Always Do Your Best: Reflections on the Fourth Toltec Agreement
During this week, I have shared my reflections on the first three Toltec agreements presented by Don Miguel Ruiz Jr. in his inspiring talk last Saturday, organized by East West Books and Gifts.
In the first part, I spoke about "Be impeccable with your words," a reminder of the importance of speaking with integrity and how our words affect both others and ourselves. Then, in the second part, I explored "Don't take anything personally," a teaching that frees us from the weight of others' opinions and actions. In the third part, I covered "Don't make assumptions," a call for clarity in communication and avoiding assumptions that can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts.
Today, we arrive at the final agreement: Always do your best.
While our best effort will change from moment to moment, we should do the best we can in each moment. Our best effort will be different when we are healthy and energized than when we are sick and lacking energy.
When we allow ourselves to do our best, we will know that we have given our all. This will help us avoid self-judgment and criticism.
When we have more energy, our mind is clear, and our body is relaxed, it is generally easier to do our best in any situation.
This is why I love practicing Qi Gong; it is a very powerful practice for many people.
Qi Gong helps us access a deeper sense of calm and tranquility, increases our energy, and calms our mind. And when we are consistent with the practice, the effects accumulate.
The more we practice, the deeper the effects of our practice will be.
If you want to practice Qi Gong consistently but need a little boost (with some accountability), I couldn't recommend this more. Get in touch with me, and we can arrange online or in-person sessions depending on where you are living.
I appreciate your comments and reflections on this series. Feel free to share this post with those you think might find it useful.
